Description
Protectatile is a hard wearing water based acrylic that is suitable for slates or tiles. It comes in black, slate grey, charcoal grey or brown. It offers great protection in harsh weather conditions and protects against raveling.
Generally you will need about 1 litre of paint for every 4-5 square meters of roof area for one coat. This is a rough guide and will vary depending on the condition of your tiles or slates. Older tiles may soak up more paint and therefore you may require extra. We recommend applying a second coat, you won’t use as much paint on the second coat.
The most important thing to do before applying Protectatile is to clean the roof thoroughly as the paint needs a dry and clean substrate to achieve maximum adhesion. If you have moss or algae growth on your roof we would recommend that you treat it with a suitable fungicide before washing and painting.
Protectatile is a water based product so you can clean your utensils with warm soapy water after use. More health and safety information about the product can be found here.
